Galatians 3: 1 - 5

THE BEGINNING

• Faith in Jesus Christ is our beginning, and He is the only way to salvation
• We can't save ourselves
• Human effort, alone, cannot save or transform anyone
• Only the Holy Spirit, who is a gift from Jesus, can make salvation possible (vv. 2, 3, 5)

 The Holy Spirit's involvement in salvation:

                A.  DRAW - John 6:44

 

                B.  CONVICT - John 16:8

 

                C.  INDWELL - John 3:1 - 10; Romans 8:10

 

                D.  GUARANTEE - Ephesians 1:13 - 14

 

                E.  IDENTIFY - Romans 8:15 - 17

 

Paul refutes the "Judaizers" and their message of FAITH + WORKS = SALVATION - Galatians 1:4 - 6

 

OUR BEGINNING IN CHRIST IS REALLY QUITE SIMPLE, & ONLY THREE ELEMENTS ARE NEEDED:

                1.  The Gospel of Jesus Christ

 

                2.  Faith in Jesus Christ alone

 

                3. The Holy Spirit residing in us as the result

 

STAYING ON TRACK INVOLVES STAYING COMMITTED TO THESE SIMPLE PRINCIPLES

 

NEVER COMPROMISE BY EMBRACING ANOTHER MESSAGE OF SALVATION
